WASHINGTON— Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) recently introduced the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) Act of 2025. The bipartisan legislation, sponsored by Democrats and Republicans, will reauthorize the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, a program which has been critical to protecting the Great Lakes and the communities that depend on them.
WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Senator Gary Peters (MI), and Senator Elissa Slotkin (MI) announced $325 million in federal funding awarded to Hemlock Semiconductor for the expansion of their mid-Michigan manufacturing facility. The new investment is expected to create approximately 180 permanent manufacturing jobs and over 1,000 construction jobs.
