As your Member of Congress, I want to ensure you have the information you need regarding the 2025 federal government shutdown and how it might affect you. Below are some frequently asked questions about a shutdown and key information you need to know.



We are currently awaiting guidance from the Appropriations Committee on the allowance of and guidance for FY26 Community Project Funding requests. For now, please use guidance from last year's projects (FY25) when completing our form. Please continue to check back here for any updates on that process.

Help with a Federal Agency
If you can't get an answer from a federal agency in a timely fashion, or if you feel you have been treated unfairly, our office may be able to help resolve a problem or get you the information you need.


Congresswoman McDonald Rivet is looking for motivated and driven interns for her Washington, D.C. office and her district offices in Flint and Saginaw Township.

To apply, please complete the form at the end of this page and attach a resume, cover letter, and a document with contact information for three references. Ties to Michigan’s 8th District are preferred but not required.

There are three internship terms per year; exact start and end dates will be determined upon hiring. 

Spring Internship Term: January – April
Summer Internship Term: May – August
Fall Internship Term: August – December
