She is the first woman to serve Mid-Michigan in this role. She was also the first woman to serve in the Michigan Senate.

WASHINGTON— Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) was sworn into the 119th Congress today, marking the beginning of her first term. Congresswoman McDonald Rivet is the first woman to serve mid-Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Upon her swearing in, Congresswoman McDonald Rivet promised to be a problem-solving, independent voice for the working families of mid-Michigan.
