Thursday, February 6, 2025
WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the HALT Fentanyl Act, legislation to permanently classify fentanyl-related substances as a Schedule I drug.
“I’m focused on passing policies that will keep our kids safe. Fentanyl has decimated communities across mid-Michigan,” said Congresswoman McDonald Rivet. “Families from neighborhoods rich and poor have lost loved ones to the epidemic. I am glad to help pass this bipartisan legislation, which will help us get fentanyl off our streets and support local law enforcement as they hold dealers accountable.”
