Congresswoman McDonald Rivet Statement on Flint Residents’ Lawsuit Against the EPA

Wednesday, September 24, 2025

FLINT— Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) released the following statement after a U.S. District Court judge rejected the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) motion to dismiss lawsuits brought by residents affected by the Water Crisis.

“The EPA failed to keep children and families safe during the Water Crisis. It is outrageous that a decade has passed without the EPA admitting its mistake and paying the citizens of Flint what they are owed. The EPA Administrator should settle this lawsuit right now,” said Congresswoman McDonald Rivet.
