Congresswoman McDonald Rivet Statement on EPA’s Flint Emergency Order Announcement
WASHINGTON— Today, Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) released the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency lifted its Safe Drinking Water Act emergency order for Flint.
“Today’s news is a testament to the progress made in delivering clean drinking water to Flint residents, and could not have happened without the tireless work of so many,” said Congresswoman McDonald Rivet. “Still, we have a tremendous amount more work to care for the generation of Flint families and kids who were poisoned during the water crisis – a responsibility we all can never forget and must collectively act on. I expect the EPA to continue participating in that effort and do right by the residents of Flint, and I’ll be sure to hold them accountable if they drop the ball.”
