WJRT: Veterans and first responders honored at annual resource fair
FLUSHING, Mich. (WJRT) - Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet and State Representative Jasper Martus hosted a special event earlier Saturday, honoring veterans and first responders.
The 9th annual Veterans and First Responders resource fair and recreation day was held at Riverview Park in Flushing.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., attendees had access to a range of free resources and wellness activities all designed to support their health and improve quality of life.
"We invite Veterans from all over the district to come and have fun outside," said McDonald Rivet. "We have fishing, kayaking, we've got a table set up with all kinds of services for Veterans. There are some hot dogs and donuts, and it's basically a time to make sure that they know we appreciate them and that we're working for them, have a little fun."
The community event continues to grow each year, providing crucial support and recognition for those who have served both at home and abroad.
